Run-flats
They roll after a puncture. They still need a proper tyre before the next motorway.
A run-flat will carry a car after the air has gone. That is useful on the M25 at J30. It is not a finished job. The sidewall has usually been loaded, and the replacement has to be a matching run-flat unless the owner wants the whole set changed.
These are heavier and slower to seat than a standard tyre. The extra time is in the fitting, not in the drive to Grays — the van comes out with the size on board.
